Through the Looking Glass

“Through the Looking Glass” is a new exhibition at UpTown Gallery featuring recent works by

Greg Pautler, Megan Skelton, and Adrienne Zoe.

The show runs from March 14th to May 14th, 2023.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Greg Pautler: Greg’s paintings show his versatility as an artist as he looks at and through local

architectural landscapes. His paintings are recognized for fresh vibrant color and intricate

attention to detail. His unique and unforgettable landscapes of old buildings reflect his

admiration of the beauty of Ontario’s unique character and heritage. He is inspired by the

distinctive architecture of the City of Cambridge, Waterloo Region and historical landmarks and

scenes of Southern Ontario and has exhibited in many corporate and private collections

worldwide.

Megan Skelton: The images Megan sketches feel like caricatures of familiar places. Her style

naturally bends perspective and reality. We see the spaces we know and love, but not quite as

the eye had expected, leading the viewer on a “Through the Looking Glass” experience.

Adrienne Zoe: Every photo Adrienne takes is literally through the looking glass! What’s new

from her is high key flower photography. She first experimented with this high key approach by

photographing sunlit backlit flowers taped to her glass sliding door. However, she wasn't in

control over the natural lighting. Next, she tried an old slide table to photograph the flowers on,

but found it dim and unevenly lit. Finally, her hubby Jonathan Sau mentioned she could use his

light pad. It was perfect and instrumental to her achieving her goal of creating a set of light table

flower arrangements. Adrienne enjoys the creative aspect of flower arrangement and adding

finishing touches to their photos.
