Applying To The Gallery
Our gallery is made up of local artists from the Waterloo community. If you're interested in applying please consider the information below and reach out when you're ready!

You may exhibit at other galleries and events in the region

Possible use of teaching in our classroom area
Expectations of Members
Membership fee (currently $25 per month)
Sit at the gallery three times a month for 3.5 hour shifts
(Depending on current membership)

Serve on a committee to help run the Gallery
​
Able to reliably receive & send email on a regular basis
​
Contribute nominal costs for a reception*
When you are a Featured Artist
​
Maintain gallery pandemic protocol*
*You must have proof of vaccination to apply

Contribute to the collective in a positive way!

Note: Submitting applicable taxes is your responsibility if you charge them.

Applying for Membership
Pick up an application form at the Gallery or submit an application by sending the information below to uptowngalleryapplicants@gmail.com

A Letter of Introduction explaining why you wish to join the Gallery and how you might contribute to our community.

A Biography: one or two paragraphs of biographical information that pertains to your art practice.

An Artist Statement: one or two paragraphs about your body of work or your art practice.

5-7 images of your art: jpeg images that are professional, of high resolution and are labeled.

An Image List documenting the title, media and size of each piece submitted.

Your contact information: email, phone number, website (if you have one).
The Selection Process
The Selection Committee will review your submission and reply to you by email or phone. If your submission is appropriate, you will be asked to bring some samples of your work to an interview at the gallery. If accepted, your submission will be juried by our Executive and the final welcome sent to you in approximately 2 weeks time.
