Jean Weller

My photographic passion is to capture the all important moment.

When photographing animals and birds, I love to catch the fleeting moment such as a mother robin presenting a worm to the gaping mouth of her chick or the crashing of antlers of two bucks engaged in a contest of strength.

When photographing landscapes, I seek to capture the constantly changing light. To be in tune with nature and to capture its changing moods, is a never ending joy.

Photography always has been and always will be my passion

Jean's lifelong interest in photography began in childhood with a Kodak Brownie camera, and continued as she honed her photography skills.  In later years she has been fortunate to combine her love of photography with her love of travel.  Jean has traveled to many countries - one of her travel highlights includes following the the Silk Road from China to Central Asia, Iran and Turkey.  She has also visited Africa, India, Nepal, South East Asia, South America, New Zealand, Greenland, Iceland and Antarctica.

From 2005 to 2010, Jean has spent summers in the Canadian Arctic.  Three of those years were spent as  guest photographer for Cruise North Expeditions.  In this capacity she has photographed Arctic animals, people and northern landscapes. Her pictures have been published in magazines, travel brochures, newspapers and web sites.
