A Dynamic Collective of Local Artists

Mary Guillaume

I am drawn to paint light in its many aspects, all of which attract me and my paint brush. While I work in different media my goal is to explore and enjoy the creative process, and to capture a mood, an emotional response or a striking image that speaks to the viewer’s experience as well as recalling my own.

Mary Guillaume has been drawing and painting since childhood. She hails from Algoma and enjoys painting the rugged landscapes and vivid colours of the near-north.

Mary began painting full-time after retirement. A Montreal resident for many years, she studied art in McGill University’s mature student program, and has studied with many renowned artists in Quebec and Ontario. She is a longtime member of Central Ontario Art Association and has attended their annual Weekend Workshop at Geneva Park on Lake Couchiching every year since 1999.

Mary’s paintings have been accepted into many juried shows, and her paintings and ink sketches hang in private collections in North America and Europe.
