Horticulture has infused Julie’s being since an early age. Working with natural plant material has led Julie to experiment and develop the different techniques she uses in her award-winning botanical art. Julie enjoys preserving and accentuating the breathtaking colours and textures of ephemeral leaves and flowers, creating unique images. Another source of inspiration for Julie’s work is the enchanting poetry of her uncle, Maironis, which she incorporates into her art. Her creativity is further stimulated through landscape design and fashioning floral arrangements. The journey to accomplish her goal of becoming a Certified Horticultural Therapist has unexpectedly unearthed another talent, namely writing articles about her experiences. Julie is actively committed to promoting the use of horticulture as a powerful therapeutic tool.
