Found objects, unexpected use of materials, multiple iterations of ideas, and much thought outside of the “box” are the hallmarks of this new show.     Uptown Gallery is unveiling a new facet to their roster of activities with an inaugural solo show by one of their artists. This first of a series of solo exhibitions by members of the collective is set to be the largest mosaic show in the history of Waterloo region. It features more than 20 large moveable (framed) works by multiple international award-winning mosaic artist Sophie Drouin. Modern mosaic art is vibrant, colourful, and beautiful. Showings are somewhat rare so this is a unique opportunity to learn about this exciting old/new medium.
